Buyer Business Services
- Hybrid
- Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
- Procurement
Job description
Location: Düsseldorf (50% office/home)
We are missing a special ingredient. Could it be you?
Are you an experienced Buyer with a desire to develop towards category management? As Buyer Business Services, you will support a diverse portfolio of 18 subcategories, with a strong focus on Temporary Labour, HR Services, Travel, and Mobility.
Professional German and English and relevant procurement experience in Temporary Labour, HR Services and Travel are essential. Experience with fleet management, mobility, or other professional services is an advantage. More than your educational background, we value your ability to quickly understand new categories and complex stakeholder dynamics.
You are structured, commercially minded, and comfortable managing multiple projects in an international environment. You will work from our Düsseldorf office two to three days per week and travel internationally for up to 25% of your time. If you develop quickly, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of categories and progress towards a Category Manager position.
Your BIG Development Opportunity As Our Buyer Business Services
As Buyer Business Services, you will support the management of a diverse and complex portfolio of services that are essential to Intersnack’s daily operations. These include categories such as Temporary Labour, HR services, travel and mobility, outsourced business services, and other professional services across the Intersnack Group.
This is a varied role that combines operational procurement with sourcing, supplier management, and category development. You will act as an important link between Procurement, internal stakeholders, and suppliers: resolving operational issues, supporting sourcing projects, monitoring supplier performance, and helping improve procurement processes.
Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, you will gradually take on broader responsibilities. This makes the position an excellent opportunity to develop from a hands-on procurement role towards independent category management in an international organisation
Your Key Tasks Include
· Act as the first point of contact for operational procurement matters across assigned Business Services categories.
· Resolve supplier, service, system, and process-related issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
· Support category strategies through spend analysis, market research, supplier benchmarking, and improvement initiatives.
· Coordinate sourcing projects, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, supplier negotiations, and implementation.
· Monitor supplier performance, contribute to supplier reviews, and address performance, compliance, and supply risks.
· Build effective relationships with Group functions, operating companies, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
· Support contract preparation, implementation, administration, renewals, and supplier transitions.
· Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation and support compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
· Identify recurring operational issues and help improve procurement processes, efficiency, and service quality.
Job requirements
We are entrepreneurial and focused on the long term. How will you complement us?
First of all, you are a natural collaborator who enjoys making a positive impact. You have at least two years of procurement experience within Business Services, including Temporary Labour, HR Services and Travel, preferably in a large and dynamic international environment.
You enjoy sourcing and negotiations, quickly understand new categories, and turn agreements into practical solutions. Structured and entrepreneurial, you take ownership, manage multiple priorities, and build effective relationships with stakeholders from different cultures and backgrounds.
· Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.
· At least two years of procurement experience within Business Services, including Temporary Labour, HR Services and Travel.
· Knowledge of sourcing, tendering, and e-procurement processes.
· Strong analytical, conceptual, and data-evaluation skills.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
· Proactive, customer-focused, and solution-oriented approach.
· Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
· Fluent German and English, including professional writing and negotiations; additional languages are an advantage.
· Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
· Valid drivers license.

Intersnack: an international player with an excellent reputation
The Intersnack Group is Europe’s leading savoury snack manufacturer. Intersnack Procurement BV manages the procurement of services, raw materials and products for manufacturing activities across the Intersnack Group. From our locations in Zevenaar (NL), Düsseldorf/Cologne (DE), and Slough (UK), we manage the entire purchasing portfolio of the Intersnack Group. Intersnack Procurement sources from across the world through a large and diverse system of supply chains. In procuring these products and services, our company touches the lives of many farmers, workers, suppliers, processors and local communities. Given the size and complexity of this network, we recognize not only the potential for social, human rights and environmental risks to occur, but also our responsibility to protect against them. To achieve this, we focus our efforts on responsible sourcing, supplier development and origin and sector development. By engaging on these three levels, we aim to both drive compliance and contribute to impact and continuous improvement.
You've probably enjoyed some of our products; we produce savory snacks and crunchy popcorn as well as nutritious nuts and creamy peanut butter. We produce, package and sell these products under brand names such as Chio, POM-BÄR Tyrrell’s and KP, but also under private labels for retailers. We also supply semi-finished products to the food industry.
We are not listed on the stock exchange, which means that we can be very entrepreneurial and can develop a long term strategy. We are a large European leader in our industry, yet remain entrepreneurial, flexible and personal. That is also part of what makes us Intersnack; the atmosphere is pleasant, everyone knows each other, communication lines are short and you get a lot of responsibility. So it is not surprising that long employments and interesting career paths are a rule, rather than an exception. Our official language is English, in line with our very international character.
