Bring structure to complex procurement data and help Intersnack make smarter, data-driven decisions across an international finance environment.

Job description

We are missing a special ingredient. Could it be you?

Do you enjoy bringing structure and consistency to complex financial data coming from multiple systems? Are you energized by working with people in a dynamic, international environment where your work truly makes an impact? This could be your opportunity.

As Data Engineer within Intersnack Procurement Finance, you are the driving force behind the reliability of our procurement data landscape. You ensure that financial and procurement information is accurate, timely, and consistent across systems, forming the foundation for transparent reporting and confident, data-driven decision-making.

This is a key role where proactivity, precision, and strong communication skills are highly valued. A team that depends on reliable data and smart systems is ready to welcome you.

Your BIG challenge as our Data Engineer

You act as the data and systems backbone of the team. By safeguarding data integrity across multiple procurement finance platforms, fed by a wide range of local systems, you create one trusted source of truth that colleagues across procurement and finance rely on every day. You make sure assumptions, inputs, and outputs are technically robust, logically aligned, and consistently reflected across all reporting and planning tools.

Working closely with Management, Category Managers, Management Units, IT, and external partners, you strengthen and scale the tools, data structures, and reporting frameworks that support both operational excellence and strategic decision-making. Your work enables the organization not only to understand today’s performance, but to confidently plan for tomorrow.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Safeguard data integrity, accuracy, and completeness across procurement finance systems by proactively monitoring data quality, managing uploads, and coordinating corrective actions where needed.

  • Own and continuously improve spend categorization and the procurement category tree, increasing transparency and significantly reducing uncategorized spend.

  • Design, build, and enhance procurement finance reports and dashboards, driving BI solution development and translating complex data into clear, decision-relevant insights.

  • Ensure newly negotiated payment terms are correctly and consistently reflected in ERP systems through close coordination with Category Managers and Management Units.

  • Serve as the primary data and systems point of contact for Procurement Finance, working closely with BI, IT, and external partners to guarantee reliable, future-proof reporting solutions.

  • Support the tool from a technical and data perspective, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and proper system usage.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, guidelines, and data definitions that strengthen governance and clarity around procurement systems and reporting processes.

  • Deliver engaging training and onboarding sessions for Category Managers, Management Units and new users on procurement data tools and reporting structures, while providing ad hoc analytical support when needed.

Job requirements

We are entrepreneurial industry leaders, what should be your qualities?

With a sharp eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset, you turn data from a complex software landscape into accurate, decision-relevant data that stakeholders can use across procurement. Intersnack: an international player with an excellent reputation
The Intersnack Group is Europe’s leading savoury snack manufacturer. In 2024, we generated over €4.5 billion in net sales, employing more than 15,000 people worldwide. Intersnack Procurement manages the procurement of services, raw materials and products for manufacturing activities across the Intersnack Group. We manage an annual spend of around €3 billion. From our locations in Zevenaar (NL), Düsseldorf (DE), and Slough (UK), we manage the entire purchasing portfolio of the Intersnack Group. Intersnack Procurement sources from across the world through a large and diverse system of supply chains. In procuring these products and services, our company touches the lives of many farmers, workers, suppliers, processors and local communities. Given the size and complexity of this network, we recognize not only the potential for social, human rights and environmental risks to occur, but also our responsibility to protect against them. To achieve this, we focus our efforts on responsible sourcing, supplier development and origin and sector development. By engaging on these three levels, we aim to both drive compliance and contribute to impact and continuous improvement.

You've probably enjoyed some of our products; we produce savoury snacks and crunchy popcorn as well as nutritious nuts and creamy peanut butter. We produce, package and sell these products under brand names such as Chio, POM-BÄR Tyrrell’s, Whole Earth and KP, but also under private labels for retailers. We also supply semi-finished products to the food industry.

We are not listed on the stock exchange, which means that we can be very entrepreneurial and can develop a long-term strategy. We are a large European leader in our industry, yet remain entrepreneurial, flexible and personal. That is also part of what makes us Intersnack; the atmosphere is pleasant, everyone knows each other, communication lines are short and you get a lot of responsibility. So it is not surprising that long employments and interesting career paths are a rule, rather than an exception. Our official language is English, in line with our very international character.
