Your BIG challenge as a Supplier Quality Assurance Manager
You will manage all flexible packaging materials or nuts from a quality, food safety and technical point of view. This includes primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. You will become responsible for the approval and management of the suppliers in these categories. It is key for this position to ensure that all packaging materials comply with legal, customer and company requirements and actions are taken towards suppliers and internal stakeholders in case of any non-conformance. As the jobholder works closely within a network of suppliers, buying managers and other internal stakeholders, relationship management skills and business acumen are crucial skills.
This role can be based in Düsseldorf / Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Zevenaar, in the eastern part of The Netherlands, or in Slough, close to London and involves international travel, mainly within Europe.
Your responsibilities as our Supplier Quality Assurance Manager:
Execute Intersnack’s Procurement Supplier Quality Assurance program by ensuring that all legal, food safety, technical and social requirements of the Intersnack Group are met by our Packaging material supplier base.
Maintain, update and communicate the Food Safety Risk analyses of our Packaging materials and ensure that all Intersnack Group factories are guarded against industry hazards.
Lead and execute the Supplier Audit scheme, so all Packaging supplier audits are completed as per required timelines, supplier audit non-conformances are actioned and closed.
Manage supplier non-conformities, perform trend analysis, identify trends, and determine/ implement corrective actions.
Lead complex and fast-paced packaging material categories, with high numbers of suppliers and items, ensuring supplier compliance, data system integrity and stakeholder communication.
Contribute to the Packaging material Categories' sourcing strategy on a technical level and be one of the gatekeepers, primarily ensuring Food Safety, but also an impeccable supply chain to our factories on operational level.
Support Intersnack factories during certification audits (e.g. AIB, BRC, IFS).
Job requirements

Besides the above, we ask:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Food Science or similar;
- At least 2 years of experience in (Supplier) Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Vendor Assurance, packaging technologist/expert or similar role in the packaging industry;
- Work experience within flexible packaging materials is advantageous;
- Preferably qualified lead auditor or proven experience in quality auditing, with attention to detail;
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally, mainly within Europe;
- Attention to detail, organization skills, action orientation, drive for results;
- Experience in multicultural, cross functional organizations;
- Fluency in English;
- Ability to deal with ambiguity;
- Valid driving license.
